Sorry, I ran out of time in the morning and couldn't get any more content up. A new thread is created anytime a new article is created. Therefore, I created the Transmissions area, but never got to fill it in, but this thread still got created.

Will a flywheel from a Sunbird 3.1 engine fit a Firebird 3.1 engine? From what I have read they are the same engine.

One is going to be an iron head engine and one is going to be an aluminum head engine. As for the flywheel being the same, it probably depends on the year of the Firebird if it is going to be internally balanced or externally (using the flywheel).

The engine is from a 91 Pontiac Firebird 3.1 L 191. It had a auto and I am putting the engine in a 90 Jeep Wrangler w/5 speed manual. SACHS had a flywheel but they only specify for a Sunbird. I am also transfering the ECU and wiring harness from the Firebird into the Jeep. Any ideas?
