Aluminum Rods tend too stretch and I've never seen a manufacturer recommend them for any street/endurance application.

Yeah, they don't last as long but they are excellent for limited use engines. If you plan to pull the rods out and replace them more often, aluminum is the way to go. Not practical for street use.

k, my acadian has had a couple trips to 8500+ w/o a healty oilpump.. so without doubt I had a rod knock after.. so i babyed it for like a month.. and just this past weekend I took it out for a last run with my buddy folowing me in his truck.. and I went straight to the highway.. i held it in 3rd gear.(373 gears) at some 150kph.. it was reving in the means of aboot 9500+ untill the rev limiter that is built into my ingitin system kicked in.. the point of the story is.. i held it like that for about 2miles before it finaly gave way an ended by a snap and a rod threw the side of the block.. so if you can do that with a shitty old 2.8L with a screwed rod.. it is clearly... Possibale with a ballenced engine.. ( by the way juss to let yall know how much of a trooper the little 2.8L was it started for a second even after the rod went clearly threw the block...)
