Show Me Your KITS!
have you guys ever thought about rear air bags to hook up better? and have less weight thrown around on the car? look at your launch's, and imagine what would happen if the rear end never squated down...

Yes, i did and they were a waste of time and money IMO.
1989 Camaro RS; Cammed 3500 swap, 45mm ITB's, Street/Strip Kitted 700R4, 3500 stall, Megashifter, 3.73 posi, EQ- LT headers, 3" Hooker Supercomp exhaust, etc...

Yes, I have thought of it. And no, they are not a waste of time. IF your rear end is squating, which Eric's does, then they are useful. They are commonplace in the Grand National world, and there is a reason for it.
But if you already have super stiff springs in the rear end, they are obviously not going to help very much.

regardless of stiff springs, and redusing squat, but to load all the weight on the front tires... kinda like this kid did... if worked for him, look at that traction!

Mr. Orange.
Mars Man uses airbags on his SCS 3400 and runs low 12's. I always wondered if you got air shocks and aired up the rear end as high as it would go what would happen..
I saw a riced out 93 2 door cavalier with the rear end jacked up to high heaven with air shocks and a huge ass wing on it at walmart last summer... LOL

I would imagine it would be an epic fail like the neon. or a really great hook up. nothing else.
i'd like to see an air bag that you stick in your spring strut assembally for that purpous. just like an air spring but hollow in the middle. you guys should be able to setup a air spring no problem for cheap in the j bodys...

not exactly FWD, but 83 Elky with ~250psi air shocks aired liked 90% gives a absolutely stuipd amount of travel... and effects traction quite a bit.

not necessarily. i bet the same shock system wouldn't have ANY transfer of weight to the rear of a FWD car... not until you get to some hellaciously sticky tires and a LOT of grunt...

Mr. Orange.
I don't know. I have Eibachs and the KYB Gas-A-Just shocks which are a lot stiffer than KBY GR2's. My rear end squats a lot still. The orange car, not so much, it just goes to straight spinning the wheels... LOL
