    there is more to the 3500 block. there is 2 place ( next to the front crank sensor and behind the flywheel) that is written 3.5L

    Right, 3500 is a PITA to do what you are asking, so just use a 3400 block, or keep the 3100 and upgrade the top end.

    yea!! in the dirt. i have a 91 beretta gt with a 3.1 5spd.i race in the dirt.it would be nice to have all the mods. that some of them are using.i am from pa.on our track some times the best handling car wins.i finally got my first this season. i have been thinking of doing a 3400 top end swap on a 3.1 short block i am building for next season.i will be checking out wo-tech. GO FAST BE SAFE!!

    Cam and opened heads will make a world of difference on you car. I know I am talking about a different platform, but I recently saw a ~30% increase in WHP on my BMW simply by swapping to a late model (better flowing head) head and cam - even using the same small exhaust manifolds that came with the weaker motor.

    Are you allowed to modify the exhaust manifolds? Opening up the inside of them to free up a little more flow will help as well (since you can't use headers)...
