  • New Chatbox on Forum Home

I've decided to try one more chat option, since previous attempts haven't been the greatest. Anyway, it is a chatbox (shout box?) that is currently located at the bottom of the forum home page. And for a brief testing period, this is where I plan on leaving it. Depending on how the community uses it, there is the option to also show it in the forum areas, as well as the threads. An upcoming release will also allow me to place it on the CMS front page. But, as I said, I am currently just going to test it out and see how it gets used.

Feel free to try it out, and leave comments either in the chat box, here in the comments area, or both. I know I have previously stated that I was trimming off the options and getting back to the bare-bones of what people use the site for, but after seeing a few other sites out there with this, I figured I'd give it a trial run.

If you go to the main forum page ( http://60degreev6.com/forum/forum.php ), and then scroll down to near the bottom, between the forum listing and the forum stats/who's online area. If you have it shown, it will be above the garage random pictures. If you can't see the chat box, please let me know and I will look into it.

Oh, by the way, you need to be logged in in order to see it.

  • Fresh Install, New Server
    by SappySE107
Brad got the site up and running again and its finally responsive again! I will be spending some time creating articles based on what I used to have on the old WOT-Tech site before going to Square, as well as posting some more dyno results as we get them @ R&R Motorsports. Still working on what isn't working still, like the avatars, but most seems to be working. Any issues, please post on the forum, or respond to this article....

  • Aftermarket 3500 LX9 Lower Intake Gaskets
    by SappySE107
If you are replacing the lower intake gaskets for whatever reason, its most likely going to be a metal and rubber gasket, like this.

which is great, if you only want it to seal. If you want it to make the power it use to, then you need to remove some of that rubber, like this.

Then you throw it on a flowbench (or take my word for it since I did this step for WOT-Tech)

And see what the flow difference is.

  • Site Downtime while moving hosting site!
    by bszopi
So after way too long, I've finally gotten sick of paying $110/mo to host this site. And what is crazy is, I paid for 3 years up front, got double the cores and double the memory, and it cost me about what 7 months costs on the current host. So it's more cost friendly for me AND it should be just as fast or maybe even faster than we currently have. We shall see.

Now with all that said, now comes the task of transferring the site over. I will most likely work on it at the end of...

  • LZ4 vs LZ9 Connecting Rods
    by SappySE107
Too many resources have shown the rod length to be 5.9" for both motors. We have known for a long time that the 3900 LZ9 rod is 5.827" long from measurements, but the LZ4 was kind of a mystery even now in 2023. Maybe its out there, but most people want to build the bigger motor. However, there is something more to these motors than to think of them like bigger 2.8/3.1 motors. Unlike the 2.8 and 3.1, the difference is the stroke and rod, not stroke and pistons.

    Having both...

  • Saginaw power steering pump - Resealing....
    by davida1_hiwaay_net
Hi folks! Sorry I've been offline for quite some time. Been working overseas and it's been crazy! Anyway I finally got around to fixing the leaking steering pump on my 84 Century. As far as I know the PUMP is original to the 1987 year engine (which i bought as a core engine). For quite some time, it has leaked oil slowly, so that if the car sits for a month or so, all the oil is gone out of the steering pump. So, today I fixed it. I was quoted a high sum of money for a "rebuilt" pump o...
