    • I got a hellof a deal of a new set last year so there big slicks. I couldn't pass them up. 28x10s and 3.73 gears in the rear.

      • I finally did it. Ran 3 11 second passes this weekend. The best being the 11.70@115.9Mph
Had a 1.64 60 foot on that pass.

I worked the rear brakes and adjusted them so i could hold boost at the line. Same tune as before on 14.5Psi. It worked this weekend. Was a rocket. Heres a vid and the slip.

Thanks. I hope to make it to the track one more time and mabey make a new best time again. But im afraid im starting to gamble with breaking something in the drivetrain with 60 foots that hard.

                • Well I am doing a Th350 swap this winter makeing some progress so far. Its a chevy Th350 with a 9 inch tail. Full manual reverse TCI valve body. One season since a solid rebuild. Freakshow 3500 stall behind it.

Here are some pics. I ground down the areas for the bolts from the plate to the block, also slotted the flywheel for the 3/8ths bolts for the TC. I got my gears and such for the speedo housing. Got it all installed. Tossed on the Vss 4k ppm to make sure it fits....and it does like a glove.

I need to still do a bit more but I made alot of progress in 4 hrs including tearing out that ole 700r4.

I still need to get some grade 8 bolts for the plate to the new trans and from the flexplate to the converter, but else then that its just a bit of fabrication and i can toss it in.

                  • Update the trans is in. Went well.

Those top two bolts on the housing will be fun to tighten down. They are alot more tighter then the V6!! I tacked the bolts heads on those to the adapter plate so the trans easily slid right on there. I tossed it in myself on my gravel garage floor...fun!

I still have to tighten up those top bolts, tighten down the TC, get the trq bar mount on(i got a used b&m adapter for 45 bucks shipped) and then just little things. But its too cold out to do that stuff right now. Im just happy the trans fit right up in there, the flex plate went on with the TC pilot adapter fine, and the trans mount adapter to shift it forward 1 5/8th of a inch worked. Although there was some extra adjustment i could have gotten out of the single bolt on the bottom of the trans mount to the x over.

                    • Update

Well 5 months after I winterized the camaro... it fired right up. Now with a TH350 behind it. Ran it for a bit to make sure the fluids were all ok. Im running a new rear end girdle, a new 2 row alum radiator, and dual fan set up also.

I did notice a little bit of vibrations with the new poly mounts for the trans. Its not violent or terrible but it is noticable and only at idle. Rev it up and its almost non existant. Im hoping its that (the new poly mounts) and not the flexplate or TC since those have been modded just slightly.

I still have to mess with the shifter cable and get it dialed in right before I can drive it, along with a few other little things.

But bracket racing starts may 3rd. So i need to get this car up and ready to tune within the next month. Im getting the itch!

                      • Well we had my bach party this past weekend. Fun as i could have wanted. But on the drag racing part..... I got some new et PBs and a new trap speed goal finally meet. 120.xxmph! Finally.

Here is a few slips. One is the trap speed of 120mph. bad 60 foot....and laugh but i let off at like the 1200 foot area. It was pitch black at the end of the track at about 9:45 at night. I never raced at the trails before but it freaked me out having no lights down there and a short shut down and a huge wall of hay bails at the normal, sand area. It may have had a killer et that night.

The other slip is the next morning. The n20 was purged just right there. 1.75 60 foot got me a 11.59. Still just using the 50 shot off the line, 14.5psi of boost on the run. I didnt wana get ran out for going under 11.50.

Rough vid quality but heres a .013 red light in elims. I let off at the 660. The rear dif is starting to get worst slipping out of posi here and there. Which is freaking innoying.

11.85 pass in the heat. its not a 12.85...lol

                        • Heres a vid of my 11.88 on a 11.81 dial. It was about 90 degrees out. The car slows down terribly when its hot. Im talking 2 or 3 tenths compared to 70 degrees or so. The DA was just horrid that day.

                          • Well to start the year out i made a pass of 11.32@123mph. Which was amazing btw. But after that i was just idleing the car and there it went. I literly shattered a piston like glass. So that killed my 3.1/3100 engine.

So now im on my way to go E85 and have a high compression engine with low boost. The heads are 3400s gen3, the block is a 3.4L gen 1 block. The pistons are 3.4L gen1 pistons, Moly rings, I did open up the ring gap a touch as the prevous owner had them tight, i assumed for a NA build. Doing all the math over and over Im going to have a good .042 quench, but thats important because the Static Comp Ratio will be 12.68:1 Not too bad when your running E85 but im also going to toss some boost at it. Not the normal 15psi like I was but lower such as 8-12psi or basically what ever it can run and stay away from KR.

The block I have was from a member on here, and it was put together very well. All new bearings all arround and freshly honed out with new rings, but i tossed molys in there and rehoned it again as i wanted to be sure we were good to go as he said the motor sat for quite some time.

I still need to do a good test to see the P2V clearance. That is very important.

I also picked up a pretty substantial cam with this new 3.4L. The cam has a terrible LSA of only 108. I don't like that at all, but my current cam is a 270 with a lsa of 111. So im in the air if i want to use the new cam with literally .550 lift on the exhaust side with my 1.6 rockers or stick with my delta 270 cam .499 lift for both intake and exhaust, not split at all.

I will be using my prevous comp cam beheive springs which allow .590 of lift before bind. Thats the main reason I got them 2 years ago, was for the bind hight, and the amount of lift i could possible run, but then again this is another reason I need to see the P2V clearance.

I have head studs that i bough finally, but i plan to still run a composite metal core head gasket in hopes that if i have bad detonation that blows out and is the fuse for my engine to save it.

I already have some bosch 80lbs/hr injectors and a 450 lph fuel pump both E85 compliant. But I still need a new AFPR that I know will be OK with E85.

Im redoing alot of my charge piping, the turbo outlet is 3 inch, my inter cooler is 3 inch, and my tb is 3 inch, so im redoing it all in 3 inch since i have the stuff just laying here waiting to toss it on, along with reworking the waste gate a bit.

Im a bracket racer so I need to get this puppy rolling again. It suxs racing my 18 second escape. So the plan is to get it going and just baby the thing for the rest of the racing season. Run 12s or so instead of pushing it so hard. I plan to start forging the engine this fall....pistons..exc.

                            • have you done the math on your dynamic compression ratio with that larger cam?

                              Comment

                              • I dont know if i did the math right exspecially when it comes to the inlet valve closes ABDC. But If i did it correctly the static with a NA engine (no boost) is 10.1:1 dynamic which a cranking pressure of 224psi.

When you add 8psi of boost though to it it jumps up pretty freaking high. 15.4:1 with 8psi of boost!

Im not sure how all this will work out for me, at least it will be a good learning experience. I was hoping this big cam would blead off more and keep the dynamic a bit lower...
