Well I can't help you with your question, but honestly, you don't need the cable from the 96 car. You can make the existing cables work without much hassle. I never changed mine and both throttle/cruise work fine. I have a lot of 96 top end extras, if there are odds and ends you can't find locally let me know I can check to see what I have.

I can understand wanting to use them though since it may make for a cleaner install - I guess I'm saying only get them if the price is right.

thats the plan. im getting what i need to make the install easy and clean. the throttle clip for the cruse is different. it actually has a little plastic clip... when the time comes i might search for the cruse module. hell if i go back and its cheap i might just snag it, its easy to take off and interchanges with mine.

How big of a difference did the '96 intakes make when you finished it? I am turboed so i think it will make a good difference under boost just by looking at the 2 different intake designs.

It is a big difference in the powerband. I couldn't tell you if it actually added any power (I imagine it had some peak gains as well as under the curve) but it certainly broadened the power band. With the 96 intakes and adjusted cam timing my motor had no problem holding peak power to 7k on the dyno (this was years ago and all else was stock) and it had a fuel pressure problem at the time - lets just say it held peak power to 7k all the while running a stinking rich 10:1 afr through a cat.

cool, i knew a chick with a '96 Z34 and it was strong threw the mid high RPMs... im ancious to get it done... im goint to plug the coolant to the throttle body with some freeze plugs and see if i can install it without to many modifications to my turbo setup... looks like the throttle body comes right down next to my turbo. but we will see how it goes...
