My 1994 Olds Project

I just realized I didnt have a thread on here about my car! Anyways, Ill keep this post short, and start off with a few pics.

I wont give a full history, but starting last year, during a 5spd swap, got it painted:

Moved down to Texas, and car is finally together!




Now, theres the current project!



With the help of Ben from WOT-Tech, have a custom cam on the way, ported heads coming soon, and later this year, Ill be making an attempt at making my own set of headers.

Finally got a chance to work on it today. These 12hr shifts are killing me. Can hardly get anything done that I need to.

Got my cam bearing tool from Summit the other day, I ordered the expansion type, and it works great! Got the old bearings knocked out, new ones put in, just about to put the cam in, when I noticed I nicked one of the bearings, since the cam wouldnt go all the way in. Didnt have the tool tight enough, and the plug went through the bearing instead of pushing it. Minor setback though.




Hopefully next weekend, if Im not working, I can manage to get the cam in, and most of the motor put back together!

Managed to get the cam in and the pre '99 timing chain on. Still amazed at how tiny that '00+ chain is!

Just to check my sanity, I do have this timed correctly right?
