    Hi All,

I have an Austin (Morris in UK) Marina, still with it's original B series (MGB) engine.

In the UK the usual upgrade on many cars is the Buick/Rover 215 ci V8 engine, except that it's too long and tight in the Marina engine bay, no room for the radiator without serious front panel mods.

I have been thinking about the GM V6 pushrods engine in the inline Camaro type of installation, matched to the same car's BW T5 manual gearbox.

What I need is some help with external dimensions to see if it will fit OK.

    1. Length from front pulleys to bell housing flange?
    2. Width of block at the sump?
    3. Width of engine to the outside of the headers?
    4. Overall weight of engine - were engines always iron heads or did some have aluminium heads?

I don't know if anyone has attempted this exact conversion, but if anyone has tried it in an MGB that would be really useful to know.

    Chris
