  • greetings from belgium

    Hi,

My name is Tim from belgium.
And I am 1 of the only peeps here that has a thirdgen in belgium.
In 2011 I had an accident on the highway where my hood flew open.
    these is the result

    dsc00025ep.jpg
    dsc00026zk.jpg

now since we I decided to restore it.
so I ordered a new hood and fenders.
repainted the WHOLE car in the original color with silver ( thirdgen silver ) striping ( painted )

modding isnt really allowed in m country, BUT I did some mods

    suspensionwise
    black polyurethane rubbers
    34mm front 23mm rear swaybars.
    BMR wonderbar
Koni 3th gen front struts with new strutmounts.
    koni 4th gen rear shocks

    Brakes
powerstop front rotors with Z36 brakepads
    , new bearings,
    new calipers
    new rubber lining
stainles steel brake and fuel lines front to back

rebuild transmission with atp shift kit and extra oil cooler.

    engine
    is a 95 camaro 3.4 V6 bored 0.5mm over
completely dissasmbled rebalanced, shaved heads 0.5mm
    new valves, new seals
    comp cams 264H cam.
    Pacesetter headers
    Heated O2 sensor
    , empty cat
dynomax VT exhaust ( I hated the poopmaster droning )
    hawksthirdgen ramair intakeboxes
Intake and sensors are reused from the 3.1 V6. so on the outside the car looks stock.

Very nice! Thanks for stopping by and posting the photos and the videos. Those of us that don't race love to see videos of racing.
Any chance of bracing for the body? Like a strut tower bar or subframe connecters.

Well i already have umi sfc connectors laying around the house.
But inslections would fail my car if they are on.

But if my car is 25 years old i can go for classic/oldtimer car. Wich allows me to do a one time inspection and then do whatever i want...
Only no commercial or home to work/school travel...

My car becomes 25 years old 4 june 2016. So actually in 2 weeks i can reregister it and put sfc connectors on the car....

Boy that is odd, you would think they would let you use them. Makes the car safer. Oh those crazy rules over there.

So are you going to go classic or keep it a street car?

That works out well! Got big plans for the RS now?

Going to the air force days on 25-26 June? Sounds like a great show!

for the RS, it needs to be a drivers car with all the goodies to make it a modern sportscar.
                ( not race car )
it needs to stand next to a modern boxter or a miata and be like a new car.
it needs to drive well, brake well, you need to be able to get in that car, drive 1000 miles and be reliable in every way.

still got some engine quirks tough.

I also got an also rare 91 3.1 firebird here ( never driven it tough) that Im gonna fix up.
bodywise the car is in good shape, a little rust but still fixable.
                but it needs a paintjob.
now due to the car being very complete I thought about keeping it original in every way.
maybe refill the ac with R134a and a retrosound unit in it. but except that. it needs to be a survivor of time.
it still has the original wheel locks, the original pontiac casette and keycard in the interior....

bought that car for 750 euros. owner lost the keys.
I found the spre key in the passenger seat and changed out the locks around the car.
still havent driven that car since I bought it 5 years ago.
