  • My First Post: RSX Type S Vs. My Cav

Hey guys, figured I'd post on here finally.
So I'm on the way to work the other day, and I come along side a new Acura RSX Type S.
Now I normally never street race, but I've always wanted to run side by side with the Type S. We were lined up side by side at the last set of lights before a 100 km/h stretch of road, and it was just after 7am with nobody else around.
Anyways, I see him checking out the car as I pull up, and I give him the benefit of doubt that he won't go. I try never to start street races.
He doesn't rev up or anything, but when the light goes green, he punches it and gets the jump on me. Now it's obvious he wants to go.
I'm already rolling, but now I put it to the floor.
First gear, and I'm back beside him. Torque.....what a wonderful thing!
Hit second, put down some rubber, and pull ahead, but he stays on my rear bumper.
Third pulls a little more, but I wasn't really gaining anymore.
I rev'd out third gear then let off. That's fast enough for the streets, even in a high speed stretch.
So now he blows by me, and damn he was moving too. In a real 1/4 mile it would likely be close.
A little while later I come up to a set of lights in town, and there he is again. I drive along side, and look over at him and nod. He nods back, and he's got the BIGGEST, DUMBEST looking, ear-to-ear smile I've ever seen!

On another note, just got back from the track. Ran 14.76 @ 92.22 mph as my best today. Alot of other J bodies were there, including a supercharged 2.4L that I beat a few times. He beat me on one run where I missed 4th gear. But other than that we were very close most of the time. His best was a 14.8.

That big grin means he thinks he beat you. Stupid import drivers.

I think I have been in one of those. He didn't punch it or anything though and it seemed pretty DOHC like under normal driving. He ran it up to 3500 and thats it, and I could tell it didn't have much there. I would love to race one though, especially since my friend thought it was really fast.

There are tons of imports that kick ass.

                90-96 300ZX TT
                94?-97 Supra TT
                EVO VIII
DSMs are the best bang for the buck.
                350Z's are pretty cool.

Ehh, the German imports for the most part have lost alot of their style...

I wouldn't mind adding a new Volvo (S60R) to my garage however... or possibly a new Saab...

Or better yet, the Audi RS6.
                          450hp + AWD.
                          r0x0r!

                          Or Porsche.
But yeah, BMWs aren't looking as good as they used to. Maybe the new 1 series will look nice.

Oh cliff, your 740 wouldn't be rice, it'd be swedish noodles! :P

BMWs looked great before all the recent new generations. I don't know how the previous generations could have been improved (I think the 3-series is still in it's current generation, right?), but definitely not the way they turned out. We have that complete fag Chris Bangle to thank for that. Way to fuck em up buddy.

E46 (2000+) is the current 3 series generation. E30 (1991-back) was the flyweight performer that now has a cult following (220hp 4cyl in an ultralight car), then the E36 (1992-1999) packed on some pounds, but went upscale with an indestructible 240hp straight six. Now the E46 is well over 3000 lbs, but is making 333hp last time I checked.

(HP figures are for the M3, other models are far less)
