wow i cant believe i missed this thread. those buicks that are dropping into the 6's and 5's(?) owe alot to extensive R&D. TA performance released the revised stage II aluminum block and supposedly it can handle well over 3000hp. to make anywhere over 700-800 hp those engines need a better flowing set of heads, champion still offers the GN1 head and if you can find it, the GN1-R head. i think its awesome that the turbo buick community is still growing interest long after the TR's short run in production.

also, let about 10psi out of your tires, this way they hug the road better. and make sure you add 150lbs of stereo, only to remove the whole interior for 75lbs of weight reduction, resulting in a 75lb gain, but the weight is transferred to the rear of the car, balancing it out a little more. making it handle even better. as for brakes? take your wheels off and dremel some grooves in the rotors, and drill a few holes in. pattern is your choice here. this will allow you to stop faster because the rotor digs into the pad better.
make sure not to dremmel too deep or you will ruin the rotor.

next, remove the air filter. this is just an obstruction on the way to a higher flowing engine. vaselene inside the intake manifold smoothens it out and its kindof like a polish job, without the port. so you will gain some torque here.

finally dont forget your matching dragon embossed floor mat (only one needed due to no other interior or seats installed in car) seat cover and steering wheel cover. if you really want to go nuts, a custom shifter knob and pedals. but then you might get waaay too much torque and start skidding out too much. dont worry, the car will never break as long as you own it.
You forgot painting it yellow and waxing it. Everyone knows yellow makes a car faster, and waxing it helps the air slide over it better lowering wind resistance/drag.

The latest now is lining the car with golf ball texture for the absolute best aerodynamics. lol, NASCAR actually banned the use of such textures on the vehicles racing. Stating every car will be covered in golf ball like textures to remain competitive. Saw it on Myth Busters...

Iron heads taking more boost is hogwash. Look at BMW racing, their engines are simply amazing and have always had aluminum heads, well for the past 4 decades as far as I know. Now most of them are inline 6's which are more prone to warping/cracking compared a 3 cyl head, and guys are boosting high mileage bottom ends to crazy numbers, most of them only have MLS gaskets and studs even. A couple locals here, even have such examples. Ben will be meeting them soon, one is a 640whp 3.5l two valve engine, the other is a 2.5l making 420whp, both drive them around on the street. 20+ psi is not uncommon in your better builds, there's just not that many guys here going for broke.

I feel single digits with a 60v6 is very feasible, we just need to put it in the right chassis

the fact that the 3800 has a very large market, and they came from GM with turbos started the ball rolling for go fast guys with deep pockets, and the nature of the beast was born. larger turbos, better intakes, then what ever blew up after that and needed to be improved from there was done over the course of 24 years... our motors have just started with the beast. Were playing with stock blocks, cranks, and now SBC rods and pistons. We have a great flowing factory head, headers are being made by 2 companys now? was almost 3, we just need intake options.

And more RWD cars so they can actually hook instead of put on a smoke show.

without a doubt, it's a hell of a lot easier to get a RWD/AWD car/truck into lower ETs than a FWD vehicle...

enough boost, low enough weight and traction and even a 2.8 might be able to get there...

well, some gen3 heads would help as well.
