Make sure you don't have loose bolts that hold the case halves together. Once upon a time I had a 282 develop a pretty bad leak...as it turns out, the case was starting to split because the fasteners were loose. I tightened them up, then removed the one at a time and installed some loctite and reinstalled. The trans was fine after that, didn't leak anymore and never had any other related problems.

I have no idea if that's why you are leaking between the cases, but it's worth checking out.

That sucks. And here I thought that's one of the things that electronic inventory was supposed to eliminate as well as making tracking of parts down easier for the yard and customer.

damn... the 90GPs with 282 were rare. even more so than the 88-89 anyway.

I'm shocked it didn't let me do a cross reference from 88-90. Instead it let me just stay with 90. If you look though, this is a nationwide listing of all 90's that are electronically inventoried. That's only 10 in the whole country that is popping up, lol. Then again there are 11 284's that pop up, but it automatically did the 91-93 range for me.

And in case Robert (94GPGTP) decides to go that route:

              1992
              Transmission
              Oldsmobile Cutlass/Supreme Supreme CANT START ZENON 21732 $350 Bilderback's Auto Parts, Inc. USA-IL(South-Beloit) E-mail 1-800-566-1859

That's funny, though. My 92 never came with Zenons. I wonder who I talk to at GM about my car getting skipped on them...

well, to be fair, oldsmobiles are a higher class than a Lumi...

it sure as hell didn't come with Xenon bulbs from the factory though.

                  fun fact:

                  Ctrl + F MG2, and you'll see that in 1990, only 2150 came with the 5 speed(coupes)

1990 GP sedan, only 118 made!

HAHA thats the one i called on and they sold.. but still listed on car-part.. it was a 284.. i wouldnt mind upgrading either but for a quick swap a 282 would be best.. I called about the one 282 in woodstock and he said since its a 20 year old car they dont write down mileage.. I was like WTF so i would probably get a junk tranny.. he wants $300 for it too.. im going to debate it.. Not sure yet.. its basically buying a unknown condition tranny and risking it being just rebuilt or toast and woont go into gear.. he said it was tested and was good but anyone can say that about anything..

Nice. You would think even a hillbilly yard would write down mileage... It might be a good idea to pass on that one, lol.

Btw, Robert(isaar), the Zenon thing was a joke. I know it's hard to read sarcasm over the internet though.
