  • 2.8 from TBI to MPFI

A friend of mine bought a 87 blazer with a 2.8MPFI from a camaro as part truck..

He wanted to put the block in his 87 Jimmy TBI.. But after compression test, hi found that compression is very low on one cylinder... And became less dramatic while adding oil into the cylinder before testing.

The question his: What he'll have to do to swap injection system from TBI to MPFI? intake+heads, only intake, Forget the project..

I want your clues... I know v8 carburated engines, my 22R in my 4x4 but i don't know nothing about 2.8 engines...

    Thanks a lot!

So his blazer block is good. But you wan the 2.8L MPFI system off of the parts truck??

Well honestly I wouldn't bother myself. I would bore out the 2.8L TBI manifold and then put on a 4.3L TB unit and keep the 2.8L injectors on it. TBI is cheep and easy as hell to work on and diagnose. It is relaible as hell to boot.
