  • intake manifold issue...

first off NEVER use an intake plenum bolt that isnt factory! i broke 2 10.9 bolts into my lower intake manifold removing them... im sure locktight or antisieze would have solved the problem.. one is fixed, the middle rear is messed up beyond repair.

solution one - pull the manifold off, have it welded (if i can get the rest of the bolt out), drill and tap.

solution two - somehow find a 3500 lower intake manifold (any1 have one?)

solution three - run with 5 bolts...

for right now im thinking solution three, i wanna race this sunday and get it to pass emmissions then worry about fixing the manifold. am i stupid for thinking about doing this? i dont wanna warp my plenum but i honestly done see how it could warp, seems like its got some structure to it.

    whats your opinion?

I would say to use some hylomar sealant and you should be okay, the plenum doesn't use that much torque as I recall.

If you ain't rock and roll, you must be driving a Honda
