Why does it matter how one side of a rod is matched up to one side of a piston? And why do rod flanges face front on the left side and rear on the right?
thats just how GM initially set them up, the flanges "should" all be facing the same way.. just as all the pistons should be facing the same way. I do not know if they actually serve a purpose, mine were ground off as part of prepping the rods.
