  • Oil Pan Gasket Replacement

My 97 Cutlass Supreme's 3.1 is leaking oil and needs a new oil pan gasket. Can this be done without tranny or engine removel?

You can try to drop just the subframe if you have a fixture to hold the engine in place. You can't get the pan off without either lifting the engine up or the cradle down.

You'll be better off pulling the motor. the combination of that engine's oil pan and the transmission will make taking the side bolts off hell. if you round them off you'll have to pull the engine anyways...

As long as you got the 4T60 or 60-5E in the way it'll be difficult to get at the rear side bolts effectively. You can try it but those side liketo roundoffif you aren't square and hard on them
