looking for advise on a camshaft. doing a 3.4 swap in a 86 fiero/auto with 3.06 gears. useing computer for the 2.8. would like something that wont be a pig at take-off but will still work with computer. have capabillities of tuning comp if needed. my understanding my stock stall is 2050 rpm on the stock 2.8 converter. this is just for daily driving. going to do some light cleanup on the head ports to improve flow. just dont want to overcam and end up with a pig at take-off. thinking of a crower 03015 or crane powermax 2030. would like slight lope at idle but if i go that far im going to lose take-off. any advice would be helpfull.thanks.

The 2030 really won't give you much. Most people on here use/reccomend the 260 grind (both Comp and Crane have a version) for a good overall cam.

Second that, 260 grind is the way to go. 2030 is almost like stock for performance. 260 grind doesn't screw up the ECM either. Tuning helps but stock runs it pretty well.

The Crane or Comp 260 cams are great. Almost identical performance and very streetable. They will both work fine on a stock computer.

Check gm performance parts. Last I checked I could get the cam and lifter kit for $112. And the lifters are GM lifters. The cam is the same grind as the Crane 260

Can the 260 Crane cam be used in a 94 camaro?

I am not aware of any of these cams having the cam position setup for your SFI. I could be wrong as it has been a while since I looked at the flat tappet cams, but I don't believe they have been made to work.

He doesn't need it with the fiero. Only the 3.4L Camaro required it.

But any Crane or Comp cam should easily be had for well under $200. Who quoted you $220?
