  • Rocker arm torque question

This is my first post! I have a question I have a 96 Monte Carlo with a 3100 SFI. I am putting head gaskets in it and I have got it together up to the lower intake. I torqued the rockers to 168 inch pounds, I just want to make sure that is the right torque before I finish up, I plan to start it today and I don't want to mess anything up!

    Thanks.

Depending on which rockers you have, you may be close. Although you have an L82, I am pretty sure you have the roller rockers, in which case I would follow the values for the LG8.

    LG8 (http://60degreev6.com/forum/content....ifications-LG8) : 14ft-lbs + 30*
    L82 (http://60degreev6.com/forum/content....ifications-L82) : 89in-lbs + 30*

Oh yeah, and welcome to the site!

Either one would be sufficient I think. The torque spec will not reflect on the lifter preload.
