    Well if you can get away with .040" quench on a 4"~4.3" piston then .030" quench on a 3.7" piston is not unreasonable. The reason you need a safety margin is for a bit of rod stretch and the piston rocking in the bore. And the smaller a piston is the less these variables will be a problem.
