Muffler for 3.4 DOHC cutty convertible.

Guys,

I see a lot of posts on exhaust systems etc for a 3.4

What I want is a basic system, I am not trying to get speed and performace, just want a nice deep growl to my car.

What mufflers are the best for this car, and do I need a glass pack, resonator etc.....what prices should I expect in chicago...


I was thinking flowmaster 50 seris...just replace the muffler....but now I see posts with other ideas...I am not looking for a rice burner sound. Just a nice deep growl.

Mine was a nice deep tone, I like it because it fits the car, its not crazy ass loud, but sounds good. At idle, its not much louder than stock, but when you get on the gas, it screams loud.

2.5" Carsound cat
2.5" pipe
2.5" 18" long magnaflow round muffler
2.5" pipe into 2.25" Ypipe
2 Magnaflow mufflers

Cost = $670 installed

Magnaflow, Borla, Dynomax, and Bullett Performance all make good straight through mufflers. Keep your cat or you could have some raspiness to deal with.

The cat (at least on my car) didn't change the raspiness at all on my car... though it was there with or without the cat. It sort of gives the system a more... hollow... tinny... sound... didn't sound as good in my opinion.

Magnaflow is the way to go.
