Speaker locations for stereo upgrade

I want to upgrade the stereo in my 92 Grand Prix. It has the 4x6 dash speakers and I believe 6x9's in the rear from the factory. Now I know some GP's came with 6.5" speakers and seperate tweeters in the front. Are the 6.5's just mounted in a hole in the door or are there factory speaker pods? Also where are the tweeters? Are they mounted in the 4x6 speaker locations, or somewhere else? Thanks everyone for reading.
