It's an '89 ZX10
Hooked up with an ebayer
today who's local and distributes
ngk, K&N, fram - all bike stuff
no autos. Anyway, we talked
for a while and he sold me
on the idea of going to 7's,
actually wanted to sell me
iridiums and explained how
they worked better over the
regular one's but I passed for now
since I'm still working out the
right heat range.
Because I really don't
push the bike hard, he said
there shouldn't be a concern
for frying piston's. So 7's are
in with a half turn out on the
screws. It's a tad softer on the
low end but not boggy so I hope
that's enough to where I don't
have to run smaller mains.
I'll pull the plugs in a day or two
and see if 7's do the trick.
Thanks for your input dude!

Well if you go up a heat range the plugs will run hotter and help burn off fuel deposits. If you try them and run into any spark knock then just go back down a range and try a different approach. Is this a 2 stroke motor?
Plugs are really never a solution for over fueling. Maybe you should lean it out a bit. Too much fuel kills power just as equally as too little fuel.

Yes.
And I actually went down one
from cr9 to cr8 a few years ago
- kawasaki recommends going up or down
by one so I do want to stick
with that if damage would occur
by going any lower.
the bike runs strong with clean plugs
no popping out the pipe or carbs so
mixture settings are fine. Could go one
or two lower on the mains or just gotta
get a hotter spark happening here.

You mean you clean your plugs due to fueling? If so iridiums will be of no help. What you might try doing is stepping up the heat range.

NGK - iridiums
Anybody ran these?
I'm thinking of trying
them out on one of my
motorcycles. I'm running
big jets and clean too
often. Also thinking about
