We have an Advance (was western auto, then parts america) and Oreillys. I usually go to Oreilly's unless they can't get a brand I want. We also have a Napa, but they hardly have any stock and are really small. Usually they just say they can't get something but for rare stuff everyone online says Napa has it... Not ours.. LOL

Good man Sadly it took me 2 clutches and 9 alternators in my old Prelude (that I blew a rod out the front of the engine which threw oil all over the exhaust manifold causing an engine fire ) to learn. Then again, it took them about that long to put in an Advance too...

I stay away from Autozone unless they have a name brand that I can't get elsewhere such as Timken bearings. I learned my lesson with their $11 crank shaft position sensor....

The manager will be there tuesday, so i will find out then. I bet I can get them to pay for paint (they sell paint) and then at least the labor for someone to spray it. I might be able to bang the dent down, weld it, then bondo it back, but its right on the groove line in the hood. I need to talk to my co-workers roommate, he sprays paint but just goes to dealerships to do it.... he has connections because he sells paint to places... I'd just need a truck or something to transport the hood, and cover my engine so bugs don't hit the custom paint on my plenum until it's done...

if it wasnt for there defective part this wouldnt have happened.
you might have to fight a little but you should get it fixed in the end.

this is kinda like the whole thing i went through with the iac falling apart in my tb. i had to sit there and argue with them for a few minutes to get my money back. it like what if when the pintle fell off it actually made its way into my engine.

Use the "I will talk to my lawyer" line then if they refuse. Had they not sold you a junk part, your hood wouldn't have a hole in it.

Got estimate real fast at lunch. $670 to repair. $840 for new hood and paint.

I have a feeling they won't go for that.

Wow man, I can relate to you. I had 94 Firebird Formula that i mistakingly financed and it ended up raping me from one end to the other. After I purchased it, it went through a tranny, the rear brakes didnt work, rocker arms were popping off left and right, and the thing that made me say "the hell with it" is when the opti went out. And the tranny was starting to slip AGAIN, oh and the rear end whined like hell!! I spent upwards of 2 grand trying to keep that car on the road and when the opti went out I told the bank to come and get the piece of shit. With me getting married and also with the purchase of a house I didnt need a damn car sucking my wallet dry. So yea man I know exactly how you feel!!

We'll see..... They specifically said it's an old car and not to take it to a place that is expensive... I don't get that though, who cares if it's not a 2009, it's not like there is paint falling off the whole car...then I could see the point... They did say I had done a ton of business with them over the years so that's cool.

I said if they can't fix me up maybe they could work out where they give me the paint for free there and I just fix it and get someone to spray it..
