true, but it prob won't stop 'em from coming up with similar. The bigger manufacturer's have the resources and full time R&D departments to handle that task. I don't think they'd even worry about a fledgling company right off tha back, though.
I wonder how much those cars will cost

cool, i bet there are so many patents out ont hat design that other companies wont even be able to produce anything like it ?
I don't think it would be a problem at all. GM and Honda both HAD electric cars back in 96'. But for some reason, they only allowed leases and took them all back within two years and shredded every single one. The people who leased them begged them to let them keep the cars, and offered to pay huge money for them. But they were refused.
The two things makes these cars exciting is the fact that this is all this auto maker builds. So they're not going anywhere.
The other is that there are several other electric car manufacturers out there. But their cars are all junky little commuter cars, no power, short range, etc, etc. But this car puts electric cars on the high preformance/luxury playing field.
As far as price is concerned. $85000.00 to $110000.00 USD. Not bad for a car that is faster than a 911 Turbo, Ferrari 550 Maranello and the Corvette Z06.
Looks hot too.
They have already sold 100 units and are taking orders for the next run. $75000 down though.
I've read that they have plans to build a more affordable Sport Sedan model. It will also have a longer drive time and even higher MPG equivalency.
It is the fastest car in the world under 1 million dollars. At least the one he was showing off was. I saw one on TV and it was running 3.6 or something 0 to 60.
