every time i see your post i have to ask my self why gm never painted the intakes the same way you did, it just looks so nice in that pic

Well, you gotta deal with the VVT... which means figure out a way to control it, or block the phaser in place and get the cam re-ground. Plus there is other little stuff like the cooling lines are all different locations, you probably can't use gen3 fuel rails so you gotta make return-less fuel setup, the cam phaser may hit some of the smaller vehicles (j, l, etc bodies), lack of mount on the timing cover for the smaller vehicles (engines from a malibu might have some side bracket that could be adapted on the cover), etc
It's really different in more ways than one than the gen3.
The LX9 3500 (Non-vvt) is more like gen3 than the other motors. Only thing different on it to over come is the different crank trigger. (but WOTTECH has the solution with the external trigger) The other gen4's have a LOT of different stuff.

That's not a LX9.....
That is the VVT version.

the headerlike front manifold is different. almost like a header but all 3 banks stil dump into the one pipe.

these guys are very reputable, i purchased my 02 3400 and my 01 3100 from them. they have a 2006 flex fuel 3500 for $379 and it appears to have the complete harness and stuff too, someone jump it.
