Are you asking about the GM DIS or dizzy? The signal between the ICM and the ECM is the same in both cases, with one lsight difference, the DIS used on the 660 requires anadtional 60 of advance added to the timing signal.

The dizzy will use a matching number of "points" on the reluctor wheel to the cylinder number, a 6 cylinder will have 6 points, 8 cyl will have 8 points, etc.

The DIS systems will vary depending on what engine it is. The 660 uses a 6+1 wheel, the LT5 uses an 8+1 wheel, the OHV 2.0/2.2L uses the same 6+1 wheel as the 660, The Northstar uses a wheel that is unique to itself that uses odd spaced notches, and two crank position sensors, as well as a cam position sensor to trigger the ICM, the 690 has yet another wheel. I believe the Quad4 enines used a system unique to it as well.

The Ford EDIS uses a 36-1, yes.

That's still the plan. It's funny how interested even the MS guys are in it hehe.

In the case of the BMW, if my only choices were the stock ECM and MS, I'd take the MS, I like my datalogging too much, to try and tune blindly. I have actually tried to tune blindly, and it wasn't very quick.

I'd still swap a GM ECM in though.

yea ive seen a few! if it can be done why not do it? Thier arguments are it is not well known/no support/old tech

if i still had my camaro id definitely look into doin the 1.5 to 1.0 conversion. stock pcm/ecu are awesome!
