Yes Densos hold up to leaded gas pretty good. One reason why I'm running one, they must be stout!

LOL - neither does mine!Originally posted by 1988GTU View Postpoor old wallet never catches a break.

Don't feel sorry for me... I have three stations with 100+ octane race fuel. One is unleaded the others are not. I will, however, let you feel sorry for my wallet, poor old wallet never catches a break.Originally posted by SE'sarecool2 View PostI feel sorry for you guys; I only have to go 10 miles to get Sunoco 260GT- 100 octane, unleaded race gas

Heated Denso brand O2's seem to last for a long period of time with leaded fuel, so I'm sure you already knew that though.

been looking at U4.2. I'm not worried about the lead since i don't run a cat.
I'd have to wait till i can install a fuel cell and aftermarket pump.. i don't trust this OEM Camaro pump to stuff like that.. lol

Those are things i've considered..Originally posted by 34blazer View Postyeah xylene has a octane rating of 117 i think, heres a link on mixing for octane.....http://gnttype.org/techarea/misc/octanebooster.html

I've also thought of converting to alternative fuels for next year.. nitro-methane FTW!

You can add xylene or acetone to up octane. 3oz per 10 gal.Originally posted by IsaacHayes View PostIt raises octane rating, but you loose mpg. The 87/89 is the same price here because it's the same thing. 87 with 10% ethanol added raises octane to 89. The last station here that was ethanol free had to switch and now everyones cars that filled up there have had miss fires/etc because they didn't clean the water out of their tanks properly so now it absorbed all that water. Some stations even tell you don't fill up a full tank, just a little at a time so you can help them get rid of their bad gas that way.... >
I got much better mileage on straight gas I would pay the extra for 89 non ethanol because a tank lasted so much longer and end up being cheaper. (I had to run 89 in summer or I got pinging and KR and power went out the window)

But I thought ethanol helps resist detonation by having a higher octane rating than gas?Originally posted by IsaacHayes View Post91 is higest we have here. And ALL the gas has 10% ethanol.
