Superdave, why not run a 3400/3100 dampener since those are smaller. The 3500 one is larger right? Don't want to over drive things...

I'm in the market for a double roller set CNCguy. I'll take one as soon as they are available. Just ask ben, I give him all my $$.

it's the stock 2004 chain that came on the engine... It had under 700 miles on it when i put in the new cam.

I'm sure the higher than normal spring pressure, large cam, high RPM's and overall added stress it was getting ready to crap anyways.

I don't think my UDP is going back on the engine, i'll probably run the stock 3500 pully unless i can find some kind of dampener to bolt to the UDP.

There are two types of pete jackson style sets. You can buy the "quiet" drive or the one that "whines" like an SC for the V8's. I prefer the "quiet" type myself since I have something already making my desired noise.

That does seem like a lot of wear for the short time it has been running. Are you using the new or old style chain? Looks like the new style but not 100% sure. Also, I wonder if there is a relationship between the wear and the use of a UDP?

If we ever get some free time, we will start making the double roller TC sets for GENIIIs. All the material is here and waiting.... just need to find some free time. They should add some durability and free up a little power.

The problems with gear drives is that you aren't suppose to use them with a knock sensor and the limited space under a FWD cover.

    Noisey is the best!

I had a PJ on my old Trans Am, it wasn't that bad...

Maybe this is a hint to who ever can make a better designed chain kit to maybe make one now... ?????????
Pete Jackson gear set would be nice IF we could get a not so noisy gear drive setup.

that chain has under 1500 miles on it, 800 miles of that was with the large cam.

I finally pulled the tarp back on the car today to check the mileage

The chain looks pretty scarey man. I wonder how often you'll be changing those things.

Looks like quite a bit of slop. If you turned it so it was tight on one side and loose on the other you'd have a lot of play...
