And no speed pro offers nothing for the 3.1's

They do have have 2.8's, but you have a 3.1, sorry for that...

Arias says that can have a set, forged, shipped to you for about 700.

They are the best company period.

JE, ross, ect... are ran by people who used to work at arais.

Arais will custom make a set any way you want....

Thanks for the info on companies. Do you guys have any idea on how long it takes to get these shipped and to your door?

Unfortunately, last time I checked, Speed Pro doesn't make off-the-shelf forged pistons for these engines. If they did, I think everyone here would be using them, especially at that price! All I have ever seen for forged pistons for these engines (AL head at least) are custom slugs from places like Wiseco, Arias, JE, etc, and usually run $600-$1000 for a set.

    Try speed pro.
They make aftermarket pistons, forged , for about 40 dollars a peice.

Tenneco is one of the world's leading designers, manufacturers and marketers of products for original equipment and aftermarket customers.

    This is what I use

Go to JE and get custom ones made. Apparently weisco is overwhelmed and is recommending JE to others.

Well they place that is doing my block ordered the wrong pistons. They ordered me a set of Hypereutectic pistons...and that just wont fly. So now I need to find a set of forged pistons before he can bore it out. He says he dosent want to bore it without having the pistons
So does anyone know where I can get forged 3100 pistons with a .030 overbore? Im so fucking mad that there is another snag Im not in the mood to look them up. (My German side is showing)

Thanks. Ill look into those. My drill bits have been lost/broken/dulled over time and need a new set. I need to borrow a 90 degree drill so that I wont have to have my car at such an angle.

    Turn heads? Yes
Get better MPG? Doubtful in my mind...but you never know.

I havent posted any progress in a while, so I thought Id do a little update... When I was taking the engine out I broke 2 of the tranny crossmember bolts, so I tried to use a vise grip today (several tecniques) with absolutly no luck. They only stick out a little bit so I was barely able to grip them and all I was able to do is round the threads and make it shiney. So I need to borrow a drill and drill them out... Machine shop still has my block... I am waiting on my tax check so I can get my tranny worked on... Once I get the bolts out, my block back, and my tranny fixed I am putting the "beast" back in its cage.

.........oh yeah, and my rust hole is still growing. It must know its going to be cut out, so its spreading...........

You know what the funny part was....I was offered a 350 TPI for next to nothing. But if I were to put in a V8 I would want to put in an LSx. With my v6 I am hoping to put down more HP than the TPI had stock(245hp). I always see people just putting in V8s, so I wanted to do something thats different and that would turn heads...that and I like to go down the less traveled road.
As for HP...I am hopeing around 300 or more...but thats just a guesstimate. And I believe my car is about 3000lbs

Hopefully Ill be seeing my dads V8 Grand Prix in my mirrors

ha ha! thats the first thing i noticed was the sheen on that floor..nice! Anyways, I'm surprised that you wouldnt drop in a 350 or some big motor like that... but i guess a turbo 3.1 is good... what kind of HP do you think you'll get, and what will be the HP to wieght ratio (how many lbs per HP)

And yes I do have the 7730 ECM. Ive looked into burning a chip but I cant seem to get the grasp of it. I can read about it all day and it wont make sense, but if I see someone use it I will be able to pick it up really quick. Im still looking into it. Ive found everything Id need...just kinda clueless at this point about the mechanics and all the fine tuning.

For what you're doing it's really the best thing other then a standalone (megasquirt, holley, etc).

He should have the 7730 1990-1992 fbodies cam with them.
