Iirc the vortec 4200 cam signal is different from 3x00 but you could always run without SFI.

The 4200 PCM also supports cam phasing
I'd rather not deal with DBW throttle is I can avoid it.

also, the LX5 does use a trigger similar to the 3500, but with a different tooth count.

Robertisaar said that it looked like the short* was supported in tiny tuner. won't know 100% until I have a .bin and try it out.

I see the short* modded about the same as the 4.3, just not commonly in the car. my understanding is that they were popular in dune buggies for a while.

According to all data the shortstar uses a 2-in-one style crank trigger. Possibly similar to the 3500? But since shortstars are rarely modified vs. 4.3s I doubt there will be much tuning support for them. Does Hptuners support them?

haven't really dug to deep into that yet, I'm still looking into the short* programming first. the 4.3 s10 programming doesn't appear to be as well supported as the rest of the 0411 family tree.

I'm trying to get my hands on a short* .bin file so I can see how well supported it is VS the 60V6 programming.

I don't think it's as far fetched as many would believe. I'm looking into it, along with the Short* programming, for possible coil per cylinder ignition, and higher RPM capability.

Back in the day I knew of guys that were using LS1 Edit to tune their 4.3L S-10 pickups. It would be interesting to see what it would take to successfully run a 60v6 on one of these PCMs

still looking at it, but I think I may have coil per cylinder wiring figured out for a 0411 V6, software will def require changes though.

i, for one, love the DIY crowd, and will be interested to see if we can run these on 660s.

I think it's closer then you think. 2001-2002 4.3 V6 vehicles use the 0411. I'm going to start doing a little more digging, this could be interesting.

DIY PROM - XDFs for tuning with the LS1 PCMs now availalbe (well, almost) - For those interested, I got some more time to get back to working with the '411 and making a basic set of XDFs to allow people to tune with tunerpro-rt. Tunerpro can handle pretty much all the needed functions of tuning with these PCMs. The...
