Sometimes DOHC engines are 100 percent different from SOHC/pushrod counterparts (the twin-cam version of my 1987 Nova's SOHC four cylinder was pretty much an entirely different engine), and sometimes the dimensions are pretty much the same. Sure all the plumbing would be different since the N body was never given the LQ1, but it would theoretically fit just fine...
    TDC's are HUGE compared to a 3400...

the block itself, not too different dimensionally.... but the heads/cam carriers/intake/timing gear take up a LOT of room, even in a W-body.

Wow, it makes that much of a difference?

I dunno about other cars, but the 3400 fitted to the Chevrolet Equinox was rated at 185 hp, which isn't much more than my 3100.

But if swapping the cam and valve springs produces a lot more power, it would be worth it. I would just have to go hunt down a good 3400...

Swapping a pushrod 3400 would be rather pointless since it barely makes more power, but if I could find a 3400 DOHC and then maybe turbocharge that...it might be cheaper.

hopefully, we can go a step further and just use the M90s from the L67s and make the process even cheaper to get into.
Wait a sec...I thought he was using the MP90s from the L67's....

you can open up the TGP manifolds to the 3x00 ports, but it leaves almost no sealing face area near the corners of the ports. it's not something I would recommend, what I would consider is blocking off the output of the rear facing manifold, and fabbing up a new Y pipe to the turbo.

Centrifugal S/C. Replaced the A/C. Ran it with a intercooler. It has its own oiling system that needs a small oil cooler (Rotrex brand). Only problem is you need to rev high to get power out of it so you really need to build for higher revs. He was shifting at 7k RPM's (manual trans). He also had minor port work with a cam and proper lifter springs to go that high in rpms. Headers with a 3in downpipe with a cut out...
