  • 3.4 PR Hyper or Forged Pistons

I'm wondering how many of you have replaced your pistons in your 3.4 pushrod motors. I want to increase my compression ratio by going with a flat top piston. I found a few companies that make direct replacement dished hypereutectic pistons. I couldn't find anyone who currently makes any forged pistons. I would prefer hyper's, cause I don't really need forged for the build I'm doing. I talked to Probe, and they said they can custom make me a set of forged pistons the way I want for about $650ish. And Ross Racing Pistons said they can do it for about $750. I might eventally go with the Probe route, if I can't find anything more economical. Anyone know of anything better?

3.4 DOHC pistons might work out better for you.

Hmmm, Yeah, they can work, but if I'm not mistaken, I really don't know much about the DOHC motor, it comes with cast pistons as well, right?

They may be cast stock, but you can get H pistons for it. The 96 type are 9.7:1 with a 51.5 cc cylinder head.
