  • Aftermarket roller rockers vs. stock GM roller rockers

Is there any advantage in going with a set of aftermarket roller rockers (the ones for SBC's) vs. a set of stock roller rockers that come on the 3x00s?

The fulcrum is the most important part for a roller rocker, in terms of reducing friction. There won't be any increase in performance, and unless you are building it up to rev super high...the benefits of a roller tip really won't be worth the expense.

Basically, no point in them at all.

If you get a set of machined rockers will full rollers then they would be much better than samped ones. Plus you can get an increase in ratio. But arent 3x00 rockers already 1.6:1?

3x00 roller rockers are 1.6, whereas the 3x00 stamped rockers are 1.52

Well, the ones I was looking at were 1.6 with roller fulcrum and tip. On even a mildly ported set of 3x00 heads, would we still be talking no gain? I'm thinking they would be a hair lighter than the stock arms.

i always thought stock stamped steels were 1.5:1...
or were the 94-95 3100 stamped steelies 1.52?
