3500 Engine stand....Bolt Size?

Why do you need to know the length of the bolts in the kit?

Everything that is included in the swap kit is detailed on the website.

I'm not sure how this is confusing.

I had to use 4" long bolts for the lower two engine stand bolts so knowing the length of the Milzy kit bolts would have been important to me. I would also like to see a picture of what is included in the swap kit instead of just a description. Remember the old saying that a picture speaks a thousand words?

You are local to Milzy and have the additional advantage of seeing what you are getting before you buy, but I do not. I'm originally from Middletown which is not too far from you or Milzy, but still I'm not up there to see what I'm getting in person like you can.

Most are around 70mm in length but it really depends on the engine stand.

I don't think so.

I got mine for free, i went to a big distributor and they didn't even want to bother charging me for them... 8 bolts, 8 nuts and a handfull of washers.

My point is that why would you spend $13+ shipping for something that you can just go to the local store and buy for around the same price. You have the bolts in your hand, that very same day and you can get on with your project rather than waiting for a few days.


I'm sure you just walked in and Mike had the bolts ready to go, which was probably the better deal for you.

Yeah I spent more like $20+ at Ace Hardware but I wanted them now as Superdave said, plus Milzy doesn't give the size or length of the bolts in their kit even though it is cheaper. I ordered the MMS 3500 swap kit, but still won't know for sure all that's included until it shows up at my door. As I've said before, Milzy has some nice products, but their website leaves a lot to be desired.

I bought a bolt stand kit.

Priced it out at a store and buying it from the vendor (MMS) was cheaper.

12mm, 1.75 pitch and the highest grade you can get. Make sure to get ones long enough that they go into the block almost to the depth of the boss.

Ok this may sound like a dumb question, but here goes. I bolted up the engine stand plate to my 3500 engine today and used M12 grade 8 bolts which seemed to fit ok, but I just want to make sure that is the correct size bolt before I set the engine in the stand under it's full weight. Can anyone confirm the correct engine block bolt size for a 3500?

This is my first experience using an engine stand and I want to make sure I do it right so this puppy doesn't end up on the floor due to a dumb mistake. Thanks....!
