its getting to the time of the season where im going to check everything over and then call it a day till next winter.

Thats what I'm thinking... and I hate to back out on Ben as far as the order goes.

I might have to change my plans too. I'll wait another week or so for an answer. After that, this engine is going to be put back together so I can enjoy driving the truck again.

This kinda shakes my confidence in cometic as well. I feel like the guinea pig for this product. I see they finally took these down off their online ordering page.

I'm hoping for more of Ben's timeframe... If it's an end of April deal I may have to nix the idea of using these gaskets. Hopefully he'll get some answers from them this week. It is a big screwup on their part so hopefully they understand they are holding people up and get the production moving on these quick.

My magic 8 ball and crystal ball are getting repaired. I told them I need a time frame as soon as they can give me one. I am hoping for a couple weeks, but do not know at all right now.

I sent them a 3100, 3400, and 3500 gasket yesterday so that they have 3 to compare with. I will find out what I can next week. I left a note that I would like a time frame as soon as they know.

I have a list of everyone and what they ordered. I have confirmation now that they do need me to send the gaskets back.

Is that the same as they are taking responsibility for the issue? I would have hated to see this in some way get pinned on you.

If so then thats good, you won't have to worry about picking up the tab for the bad gaskets.

I'm moving on to my trans to keep me busy and hopefully this gets resolved quickly.

As long as the gasket in the end has the same advertised bore as it did before (3.72 for me) and fits... then I'm good with that. lol

I don't have a time frame yet. The 3100, 3400, and 3500 are the same basic design and bore location so they can base it off any of those gaskets and change the bore/fire ring location like that were doing with the current gaskets that were based on the 3900.

How will that work for the 3400's increased bore?

No, they did not test them. I doubt everyone there is aware of the issue but the people in charge do, and are getting a 3100 head gasket now to use for the redesign.
