My question is if I have an interference motor and if I do or dont would the motor lunch when the belt snaps. I own a 1995 Luminia LS 3.4  engine vin code x. Really need help with this dont know if I should replace the belt or motor thanks.

 the older ones are non-interference and from everything i know the 96s and 97s arent either unless the heads are shaved too much or something, even though a lot of service manuals say they are.91 GTP HM-284 GONE

 i've heard of early LQ1s smashing valves, from what i understand a lot of it has to do with what was going on when it broke, like when mine broke i was just a little over 2000rpm, but at about 6000rpm you have a higher chance of something getting smashed, but personally i'd replace the belt and you ought to be fine from there.-Chris

 Make sure it isn't the distributor o-ring leaking. If it is the o-ring leaking you'll have to pull the rear head to do it right to replace the o-ring. Most people hack it and RTV the mating surfaces and cross there fingers.Lifting my front wheels, one jack at a time.
