  • Ahh Help!!, ticking noise

Yesterday, I replaced that infamous leaky oring on the oil pump drive on my 95 3.4 dohc. Pulled the top, and the rear head to do it. Put everything back together and started fine. Then I noticed a ticking noise from the motor, as revs go up the ticking gets faster and louder. I went to get gas yesterday and go on the car a bit, and it seems to miss-fire some.

I did notice I was accidentally one quart over on oil. I dont know if this would have anything to do with it.

Sticky lifter, bad spring, too much oil? I dont think it would be a burnt or stuck open valve, then there wouldnt be compression in that cyclinder and the motor would be off balance and shaking when its running.

I goin to take it for an oil change and do an engine flush while I'm at it, hopefully this would cure it.

But if not, any other suggestions would be very much appreciated.

    HELP!!

The lifters could have bled out, in which case its just gonna take a lil time for them to purge the air. But if you have a missfire as well something may be awry, are you sure the cams are all in proper time?

      fixed

it turned out there was too much oil in the car, I did an engine flush with an oil change and the ticking went away.

      Thanks
