i have a lumina z34 1991 and my car runs pretty decent but at times my car drops two cylinders 1&4 i think. Both on same coil but i changed the coil and it didnt help at all could it be the whole backing plate or is there anything else i can do i need emissions and i dont think it will pass like that i need help big time

It could be the ignition module also (the plate behind the coils). The driver circuit for that coil could be taking a shit on you. It could also be a bad wire too, since both wires have to be good for both cylinders to fire (unless the spark finds a spot that has rubbed raw on metal to jump out of).
