Did you make sure you routed the belt properly ?
I mean is it around your alternator, usually when the alternator is shot then the car won't idle.
Just a suggestion, make sure the belt is routed properly.
Sounds like an EGR valve sticking. It can be intermittent and usually only starts when it is thoroughly warmed up. But hopefully it is just one of those hickups like you said and not an issue.
Oh, another thought, if you pulled the battery cable while doing the maintenance and let it sit for a while it can cause some hickups when you start the motor again. Sometimes they fail to remember that they are not operating with a new motor and have to relearn the worn motor settings and all.
