  • JY score today...

    So i found a really clean '96 Z34 so i went to war on it.. Looks like im the first person to rape it lol....

    * '96 ECU
    * PCM box/tray (already have it installed )
    * Upper intake manifold w/ intake pipe/TB/all sensors/throttle cable bracket
    * Lower intake manifold
    * fuel rail
    * windshield cowl (my was trashed... already installed)
    * headlight (mine was cracked)

    i thought about pulling the heads and other stuff but didnt want to spend any more $$. I read the write up about the intake swap, looks like i will have to go back and grab the:

    # ’96 Throttle Cables (This is debatable, ‘92 will work with some modding, but the cruise cable will NOT
    # ’96 Coolant pipe that runs from the water pump junction across the front of the motor to the lower intake.
    # 96 Rear Cam Carrier Cover (Valve Cover)

    how hard is it to remove the throttle cables?

    Im curious to see what kind of a difference the newer intake will perform with my turbo setup... Hopefully it all fits in pretty nicly w/o to many modifications.. Any of you turbo guys running the newer style intakes? what do you think? it does look tremendously different inside then the old style.. much more open and no snail shell to breath threw

    Keep in mind if you had pulled the heads then your 92 exhaust manifolds would not work due to the different port shape.

    I will likely have ported heads for sale soon if you are interested (91-95 variety). They were 0 mile heads that Ben ported. They have all new exhaust valves and valve stem seals. Stock valvesprings shimmed with the largest shims available. Less than 1k miles on them now.

      yeah i know, i want to pull the heads but it would be a huge PITA and then i would have to change the turbo setup as well.

        got both valve covers and coolant pipe today. the cable looks like i might be able to use my old one so i didnt snag it. the cruse control has a different clip i might have to get the cruse module so it can hook to the trottle body.

        it looks like i can actually bypass the coolant to the tb so i might do that. just get a freeze plug or weld in a plug and trim the TB nipple off and plug it also.
