change your exhaust around and you get both hp and loose weight. i went to a high flow exhaust by doing the following:

gut the convertor, replace resonator with high flow muffler, and remove the 2 can mufflers altogether.

with the removal of the can mufflers and shielding above them i lost 40+pounds. exhaust is brutal loud(i like it ) i may have to switch to a different muffler if i get a ticket or 2.

switching to a 5 spd is another hot ticket. it is lighter and the gearing makes the wbodies alot more fun to drive. not only that but then u can get an aluminum flywheel and better clutches too.

I have discovered too a lot depends on the W-body you have too. for some unknown, the Z34 actually 190 pounds more than the GP coupe outfitted with the 3.4 and 5-speed. I was reading a review on W-body from 1992 about the best sport cars for your buck. They tested a Z34 and a GP SE, both with 3.4/5-speed. The GP weighed in at like 3240 pounds, while the Z34 weighed in at 3430! Funny thing is, the Z34 was 3 tenths faster in their testing.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

just found this ... it is for a 3800 but might work for our dohc or what ever engine you got. it is a pulley replacement for the AC. although for the $300 price tag, i would just buy a new shorter belt and bypass that area. cause on my DOHC if i shorten the belt it would be fine without the AC
