i have the exact same headunit, probably the best $140 ive spent in a long time. makes your interior look clean and simple.
btw in case you were told differently, it DOES in fact have HD radio.

I got home today and this was waiting for me outside...

This reciever is supposed to kick ass! I've always loved JVC units (had one a long time ago) and they are meant to be performers...not show pieces like some are. And I've always wanted a bluetooth setup with my phone, so I figured "why not" It had to be iPod ready and comes with all of the necessary cables. I can't wait to install this! All I need is my car...out of the mechanic's. LoL!

A routine check that ended up needing a bunch of shit, and me with no time and place to work on it, I had to have him do it. Basically this is a half-assed list of what he's done:

    valve cover gaskets replaced
    upper intake gasket replaced
    spark plugs/wires replaced
    fuel filter replaced
rebuilt and flow-matched 4 injectors (replaced 2 and also flow-matched with the other 4)
pass. side rear caliper replaced (locked up)
multiple vacuum lines (some were discontinued, so he had to make his own)
oil and trans syncromesh fluid changed

I know there's a few more things done, but I can't recall what they are. Anyways, he didn't get it done this week, and now he's saying NEXT week...my patience is running low. If I am not driving the Grand Prix next week, I'm going to be pissed! As far as I know, all he needs to do is replace a cruise control vacuum hose and install the caliper.

What did you have it in for?

The car should be out of the shop this week (hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday) and I'm going straight down to pick it up when it's done. I don't care if there's still snow...I'm gonna drive it, damnit! I'm doing all the body work on it in the Springtime and the rust won't spread much more, if any, than what's already there. I'm super pumped!

Well I did my taxes this past Tuesday, so I should be getting about $830 in a week or two. I was thinking about buying a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust piping system and a CAI from Overkill Engineering Motorsports, but I should really save it for doing the body work...that should be top priority and get rid of the rust before it spreads!

If you don't want it to get gradually louder and want it louder from the get go, I was told heat them up really hot and put them in a tub of cold water. This will shatter the glass inside and you don't have to wait for it to "break in" before it gets louder.

essentially, they are the same thing, but most resonators i see use steel mesh instead of fiberglass. bit longer life that way, but i love the roar of the 660, so i honestly would either remove it or just use a glasspack to quiet it down for a little while and it will gradually get louder.

The stock pipe after the Y also has a resonator built into it. I found this out when I went to cut some up to practice welding on. Cut it in half, it didn't fall apart and I was like ??? Pulled on it and it's got cheese grater styled holes sort of in an inner piece of pipe with some stuff that looks like a Brillo pad around it inside of the outer pipe. I've heard the same thing about glass packs making killer resonators too

Sweet! Could you possibly get me a video of the car so I can hear what it sounds like?

I recieved the exhaust tips today! Well...one anyway. I don't know if they forgot to send the other one or if they shipped them separately and one box is on another truck. Not sure, but I contacted them to see what the deal is.

ANYWAYS, here's what it is. It's beautiful! They are going to look great on the car! I made sure they fit and they tuck in the exhaust outlet very nicely. Now I have to get the rest of the exhaust pieced together (mufflers, resonator/glasspack, piping, etc).

Yeah, I will hang on to the tips. They are honestly brand new! They've only been had a few hundred miles on them. The previous owner put on new muffs and tips directly from GM.
