  • Whats your opinion on...

    1998-2005 Grand Am GT's.

I'm looking at buying a 2000 GAGT with the SC/T kit, and 5 speed.

I know the 3400's are only 170hp, and the car is probably a mid-high 16's car at my altitude. But other than that, how are they as far as repairs, mileage, reliability, aftermarket etc.

I'd be keeping this car for at least 5 years. My first choice was a new monte SS but after careful deliberation i decided that i've always liked the GA's and i gotta stick with the 60 degree engines. That and the GA is a couple grand less and lighter.

Calling the dealership in about an hour to work out a price.

Who swapped the 5-spd into the car? The 3400 GA's never came with a manual trans. If it is truly a factory 5-spd, it is a 4 cylinder. You might want to confirm exactly what the car is before you discuss price.

Used to be a good site... Well, I only visit the performance section, so I can't talk about the rest. But the performance section had dropped significantly in quality lately.

I like the GAGTs. They have a nice look to them and actually have somewhat of an aftermarket.
