  • Boost and Check Valve questions...

So i was just curious, you guys running boost on your NA motors, do you run a check valve before the FPR to keep boost from going into it? Same question for the Accum. Valve on the Auto trans?

i havnt ran one on mine ever and thinking it might be a good idea, not sure if thoes parts where designed for boost so i don't know the effect on them in the long run.... ive ran them like this for years without any real problems but what is your inputs?

Shane, just for what it's worth: The Turbo Grand Prix's do not use a check valve at the FPR(same part # FPR as the NA 3.1's), but they do have a check valve before the vacuum modulator on the transaxle.

The standard check valves GM uses for the vacuum lines going to the HVAC, etc. = what these cars have from the factory. Most of us use "HELP!" part #47150 as replacements.

Cool dude! i thought i remembered a check valve there on my TGP but its been years sence i have had it so i couldnt remember. I could just let it bleed off i would assume, it wouldnt need to be resurculated.... I would assume.... what if i just put a check valve in line so once it got into boost it just blocks all vac and boost from the modual?
