  • 3.4 to 3.1 wiring

I posted about this on the full throttle site but I have not gotten any responeses so I thought I would try here too. I would like to know what is involved/how hard it is to install a 3.1 ecm on a 3.4 engine/wiring harness? I am interested in doing this because I am putting a 3.4 SFI into my jeep and I used a cam that does not have the lobe for the cam sensor so it is going to cause the engine to run MPFI instead of SFI, so I am thinking I will swap in an ecm that is made to run MPFI. The early 90's Z24 ecm is the one that I am looking at using. I do not have the ecm yet, but I would like to know if anyone has done this and how much work is involved. Thanks for any help.

Get the wiring diagrams for each vehicle, and it should be pretty straight forward. We have some wiring diagrams around here (Schematics for the 89-91 Camaro MAF 2.8 and the 92 Camaro MAP 3.1) that might help out some.

Do you know of a link for a 93 Cavy with the 3.1 and 5 speed? I already have the manaul for the camaro and my jeep, so the last bit of wiring info I need is for the Cavy ecm.

        Google is your friend...

        (from this thread : http://www.v6z24.com/jbodyforum/1991...am-t70674.html)

Its listed for a 91 or maybe 92, but I am almost positive there isn't a difference in the 93, so these should work. I'll have to take to feavs bout putting these up on our site to add to our wiring diagrams.
