make sure windows thinks that all the USB devices are detached before you plug in the ALDL.. sounds like whatever port you selected is being held open for something..
how many USB ports do you have?Past Builds;

well i got it!! coolest thing ever
im not sure what made it work but i just kept tryin different ports and swapin em in the settings. im sure i will post a screen shot of how its running to get some opinions. my hydrocarbins are 1500 at idle, im hoping thats because its untuned but it doesnt make sense, afr gauge shows its staying around 14.7, only thing we can come up with is that its so lean its missing so its not burning the fuel and registering as a good afr.. (i can really hear the miss, but the guy that helped me build the engine can)
thanks
i o u guys my life[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

um so now when i try and data log it freezes my computer... i have tried downloading tuner pro again, done disk cleanup, defrag, scan disk and virus/antispy runs 2 times a day. idk if its my laptop or the program.. i need this thing to work by friday morning!!!
also, i have tried saving the logs and nothing shows up. the adl file even says its corrupt... im gonna try my friends laptop to see if that works but that wont be till im on my way to get it tuned..
any ideas on this?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

USB FTL
not getting anyones hopes up but i just ordered all the stuff to make about 8 ALDL circuits, i'll probably be selling them once all the stuff comes in. These are serial circuits, the same proven design used since the 80's.Past Builds;

If you don't have a serial port then i guess you don't have much of a choice.. but it seems that all the USB datalogging circuits seem to have issues. They do work but it takes alot of fiddeling, rubbing your stomach while patting your head.. and standing on one leg to get them to connect. Maybe it's something to do with the baud rate of the ECM.. or maybe it's just USB drivers.Originally posted by Alxsmt View Postwhats wrong with usb? i cant use serial on my laptop
I gave up on mine a long time ago.
