  • 3.4 swap into a 1998 grand am

I have a 1998 pontiac grand am with the 2.4 "twin cam" and a 5 speed. while this combo offers up zippy performance, it keeps on leaving me wanting for more, and i have also belive that the 2.4 wont last beyond 150,000 so the motor has to go.

i am wondering if it is possible to hook up a 3.4 V6 from...say a 2003 grand am into my car keeping the 5 speed

Nope. Sorry. And also, going from a 4cyl to a V6 takes a lot of work and many many parts to be swapped out.

I recommend this site for your 2.4:

if you do the swap you need a 5 dpeed from a v6 car cause the 2.4 tranny uses a diffrent bellhousing. but i'd stay with the 2.4.

btw thats a great site, I've been a member there just over a year now.
