i was just reading about this on domestic crew... VERY tight fit on a 94-earlier. not sure if it's possible on the 95-later...

1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!

I have seen 1 person try to squeeze a DOHC into a Cavalier - it was the older body style, and last I saw, it wasn't a success. A 99 Cav has an even smaller engine bay, so I just don't see it fitting. It is just too big for that bay. There is a reason they were only found in W-bodies. That, and the weight would just kill the suspension most likely.

google "waste of time and money" and you'll find pictures of a 3.4 DOHC in a Jbody.

There are some engine swaps that just make sense, V6 in a 3rd gen is nice but use a pushrod V6 so at the very least you can work on it.

one kid in canada put a d.o.h.c in a third gen. from wat i found it wasnt worth the weight so i went 3500/282 into my 99z24. theres a short thread on j-body.org about swaping in a dohc i started to ask about it if u search around in the third gen section u might find it.

i found someone a while back on google that did a DOHC swap into a convert. cavi... it was alot of work and honestly better off doing a 3500 or a L67 swap.
