The PWM solenoid is really just there to make the transmission shift smoother. Its one of those "creature comfort" things. So yes, it should be able to be ignored without any issue.

Yes, that is the ECM I am using...

You can get your 1st & 4th gear switch signals from the Park/Neutral switch. It's the large switch on the trans where the shift cable connects. I did not write down which pins to use but it was easy to figure out with a continuity meter. The switch has several switches in it including the P/N start switch, back-up light switch, 1st gear switch and 4th gear switch.

Going by the trans pinouts that you listed, you should be able to connect it like this.
I cannot believe I overlooked something so simple!!!

Your table looks right to me, except that the trans has a Pin "C" for a "PWM" solenoid. Can this really be ignored? What is the PWM solenoid do???

I will have to get it hooked up and get the last couple of things done and get her on the road...

If you get yours running first, please let me know how it works out, I will do the same!

What's the model number of the ECM?

    Thanks!

It looks like there is no way that the ECM I have will operate the Trans I have

I do have another trans, it is a 1991 from a Cadillac (with the 4.9). It is marked 1AMW and it has a FDR of 2.97.

Does anyone have a Pin-out for that trans?

    Thanks,
    Don

    4t60e wiring confusion...

    Hi All!

I am trying to figure out how to wire up the 7-pin plug on the 4T60e that I have.

    The Trans is a 1994 from a 3800 ( trans code is 4BLW )

The Engine I am mating it too is a 3.1 from 1991 Lumina.

and to complicate matters, the ECM is from a 1993 Buick Regal (the only ECM I could find that would run a 3.1 MPFI and the 4T60e)

I have the schematic off of this website for the 7-pin plug for '94-'95 transmissions and I have the schematics off of gmtuners.com website for the ECM.

    The wiring is fairly different.

4t60e info off of this website:

    Pin A - 1-2 solenoid
    Pin B - 2-3 solenoid
    Pin C - TCC/PWM solenoid
    Pin D - TCC solenoid
    Pin E - to 12v
    Pin F - Temp sensor
    Pin G - Temp sensor

    ECM info from gmtuners.com

    Pin A - 12v via n.c. brake switch
    Pin B - 4th gear switch
    Pin C - 1st gear switch
    Pin D - TCC Control
    Pin E - 12v
    pin F - Shift Solenoid A
    Pin G - Shift Solenoid B

Is there any way to reconcile the differences, or did I just waste a couple of hundred dollars and the last month of my time?

This is all going into a Fiero.

I have (or will finish soon) re-wired the whole car. Wiring is not an issue for me, but I am not sure at all how to hook up the trans so it all works right...

    Thanks in advance!!!
    -Don
